Tracklisting Tuesday: That Friend In Yellow

As I mentioned in my blogiversary post yesterday, this week I’m doing a Post-A-Day challenge called One Week To Celebrate One Year: A Post-A-Day Challenge to celebrate my one year blogging anniversary!

So I’ve taken this opportunity to actually get my butt in gear and organise a Tracklisting Tuesday feature series I’ve been planning on doing since…ooh, before last half term now? About four weeks ago? It’s basically a musical profile of three of my best friends (one of which I haven’t asked yet…whoops!), so that I can blog about some of the awesome people I know and also talk about some different music. So here we go with my first friend, Z. Props to Z, by the way, for spending time giving me answers to this at breaktime!

1. For the benefit of my readers, describe yourself in three words.

Z: Small, yellow, horses. (It’s true, she’s super short – or vertically challenged and more down-to-earth than the rest of us – obsessed with the colour yellow (seriously – gilet, riding gear, geography controlled assessment folders…you name it, she’s got it all in yellow!), and very very very horsey. Literally, she’s taught me pretty much everything I know about horses and the riding world).

2. Describe your music taste in three words/phrases.

Z: Random, upbeat, mood-changing

3. Name a few of your favourite artists.

Z: Kygo, Bakermat, Ed Sheeran (the anomaly!)

4. What are some of your favourite songs at the moment?

Z: Fade Out Lines – The Avener ft. Phoebe Killdeer, Younger (originally by Seinabo Sey) and Firestone – both by Kygo, Teach Me – Bakermat, Sun Goes Down – Robin Schulz ft. Jasmine Thompson, No Diggity (Kygo remix) – Ed Sheeran ft. Passenger, Bloodstream – Ed Sheeran

5. If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Z: Can’t Hold Us – Macklemore ft. Ryan Lewis, because it just brings back good memories, although I couldn’t listen to it every day!

6. Where do you find the music you listen to?

Z: Spotify, from my brother, on Radio One, especially from Danny Howard and Annie Mac.

7. Who would you most like to see live?

Z: Ed Sheeran, because he seems to be the least fake.

8. When do you listen to music?

Z: Doing homework and exercise, when I’m out riding in fields, before riding competitions and generally on Radio 1 in the background.

9. Why do you like music?

Z: It affects my mood, and my favourite songs can put me in a good mood.

10. Do you focus more on the beat/melody of music or the lyrics?

Z: A bit of a mix, but overall probably the beat. Singing lyrics under my breath does help me to ride better, though!

11. What’s your least favourite type of music?

Z: Rock, definitely

And that’s it! Let me know down in the comments what you thought of Z’s picks, and keep an eye out for the next two installments of this series over the next couple of weeks!
