For this week’s not-quite-Tuesday Tracklisting Tuesday’s post, I had a dig around in my drafts archives and found a post entitled A-Z of my Music Library. I clearly remember that this post was inspired by someone else’s post I enjoyed, but as this draft was about four months old, I’m afraid I don’t know who’s post it was 😦
(if this may have been your post, do let me know!) UPDATE: I think this was my inspiration 🙂 Thanks to BearNextDoor for letting me use it! As I have so.many.songs on my phone, if I’m faced with a choice, I will probably go for one I haven’t already mentioned on this blog, just for a bit of variety…Also, for the sake of your attention span, I’ll keep this list to songs that I actually own, rather than ones I love-but-am-too-broke-to-buy.
Anyway, here goes with the whistle-stop tour of my music library…
Catchy title, huh? I got this as a freebie from Amazon’s Artist Lounge, and it’s pretty darn catchy (unlike the title!). Me likey!
No, I didn’t just get annoyed at an article of clothing – that is the title! Again, this was a free download and is now quite possibly my favourite TKAK song!
Ah, love this. An 8tracks find, it makes me so happy and is an instant mood-booster!
This is just so relaxing, and I often listen to it on the way round to school. It instantly helps some of my tension leak away, and certainly makes Monday mornings less traumatic!
Uhh…this was a hard one, as I don’t have many songs beginning with E on my phone! But this is a good one to jump around to, mainly because everyone knows the words 🙂
Although the lyrics are difficult to sing aloud (turn your headphones down, people!) (they aren’t that bad, I swear), this is one catchy tune!
Urgh, I do.not.like the word ‘tune’. Why did I just say that…?!
This was mine and a friend’s theme tune for summer a couple of years ago, and it brings back happy memories 🙂
Arghh! There’s that word tune again! Stop me now!
Now, some of you may know this as the Bastille demo on their album, but Dan Smith (lead singer) actually wrote and recorded it before Bastille…I don’t actually own it (mainly as I can’t find anywhere to download it), but it has a slightly different feel to the Bastille version, more raw and untamed, like most of Smith’s solo stuff. Enjoy this introduction to pre-Bastille-Bastille (by only a quarter of Bastille – so yeah, not really Bastille at all).
Sad and beautiful.
To represent the Pop Party 6, retro section of my phone. Yep, it’s messed up (GOT THE POWER TAKE A SHOWER is just a small sample of what to expect…)
The lyrics to this are so beautiful and inspiring – I think it shows the point of view of the world everyone ought to have.
Another freebie, though I can’t remember if this one was from Amazon or iTunes! An uplifting, cheerful song I really like.
Just makes me want to shed any inhibitions and dance!
Awesome vocal effects, laid back and chilled but not depressing! Thumbs up from me!
Aww, this just makes me smile!
A positive message, happy, me likey very much!
Runaway Baby – Bruno Mars (although I’ve got some dubious Bluetoothed version!)
I love this because it reminds me of the in-coach me and a friend made up and then performed numerous times on our school trip to the WWI battlefields in Belgium last October 🙂
So happy and summery! And the guy in the video is definitely feeling the carefree vibe…Also, a shoutout to Sing by Ed Sheeran cuz I can now do the whole rap on that! Major achievement over here 😉
This, and the music video for it, are both almost unspeakably beautiful. Ahh, bliss.
I’m sorry I just couldn’t choose! These songs could barely be more opposite to each other if they tried, as well…ah well! Have a listen to both and let me know which you prefer down in the comments 🙂
I literally spent almost a whole summer holiday with the words to this in my head, but it wasn’t until after several weeks that I remembered what the actual song was called!
This is actually from the soundtrack of a one-season TV show called Britannia High, about a fictitious performing arts school. Thanks be to the 50p wonders of the WHSmith’s clearance bargain CD bin!
Some old-school T-Swizzle a friend introduced me to and which I just really like 🙂
And that’s it for today, folks! Let me know your favourites of my picks or just your favourite song at the moment down in the comments – I want to find more favourites! (not that I need to add to my 951-strong music library…)
Thanks for reading if you made it this far,
An Overthinking Teenager 🙂
