100 Days of Happiness {day 52} – Put Your Hands Up, The Trumpets Are Taking Control

Yep, that’s right. Despite apparently being the least popular instruments for young kids to start, there was a massive influx of them into our school brass ensemble. I don’t know if it was because I missed a couple of weeks, but there were something like seventeen trumpets there. And then two trombones a couple of French horns and a few euphonium-like thingys. As I said in the title, the trumpets are taking over! Although rather cramped, brass ensemble was fun. In the junior band for the first half hour we played a medley of French csongs called ‘Tour de France’, conducted by a girl in the year above, and then in the senior part of the ensemble we played a bit of Gabrieli, whom our conductor has a bit of an obsession with.

I also had hockey in games, which was fun because we just played loads of mini games and critiqued each others playing.

Other than that, I survived double physics (which is not always an easy feat!) and our first bit of ‘Further Maths’ work in, you guessed it, Maths! (As the top set, we may be taking an extra GCSE in further maths, which I have decidedly mixed feelings about…).

How’s your week been going?
